Who We Are

Originally established as the Rent-A-Car Association (RACA) in 1974, has evolved to become the leading voice for the vehicle rental and leasing sector in Malta. Today, we represent the majority of operators in Malta, more than 11,000 vehicles, including cars, vans, and trucks, catering to diverse needs such as tourism car rentals and business leasing solutions.

Over the decades, MVRLA has worked closely with government entities, regulators, and stakeholders to improve the Maltese transport sector, ensuring both the rent-a-car services and leasing operators deliver value and reliability. The rent-a-car sector, a cornerstone of Malta’s tourism economy, provides affordable and eco-friendly car hire services that enhance the travel experience for visitors. Similarly, the leasing sector supports local businesses by offering flexible fleet management solutions and cost-efficient alternatives to vehicle ownership.
